Kernsville Elementary Spring Expo Night - Thursday, May 21st
Our KV coyotes would like to invite all our families to Kernville’s Annual Spring Expo Night on Thursday, May 21st. This will be a great opportunity for your student to show you around the school and share with you examples of their work and projects that have been completed throughout the year.
Summer Food Program: Meals 2 Go
Weekly pick-up of 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches is available for students 18 and under. The program is free for those who qualify for free/reduced meals, or $35/week for others.
Note: Distribution is held exclusively at Parkland High School due to federal funding requirements.
Meals will be distributed on Mondays from June 22 through August 17, 2026 from 7:00 am – 8:30 am and 10:00 am – 1:00 pm.
To help us prepare, we ask that families pre-order their meals on a weekly basis by the Tuesday prior to each pick-up date. Order forms will be distributed via email to Parkland families and will also be available on our website. Please direct any questions to the Food Services office at 610-351-5670.

2026 Festival of the Arts Family Dance Night
This is a fun event for the whole family if you like to move to music. We will be learning a dance to "I Just Might" by Bruno Mars. It will be easy to learn and keep you smiling through our hour together. This dance will be showcased during the Festival of the Arts in our "Flash Mob" on Saturday, May 16th at 11:10 am and 2:20 pm time slots. More information to come. We would love for you to join us on Saturday to do the dance. Please pre-register for the Family Dance Night so that we know how many people to expect on Friday evening.

Olympic Day Volunteers Needed
Kernsville Olympic Day / Field Day 2026 will be held on Monday, May 11th. This will be a one-day event with all grade levels participating. Our 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade events will in the morning and the kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade events will be in the afternoon.
Due to the number of students participating, this is a closed, student only, event and only parents/guardians who have volunteered to help with a morning or afternoon session will be invited to attend.
To make this a successful day, we are requesting volunteers to assist with an AM or PM session or both! Volunteers will run games and activities during the day for students. If you are interested in volunteering, you must have your clearances on file with the Parkland School District and be over the age of 18.
Please complete the form below if you are able to volunteer. Please do not list more than one name. Each volunteer must submit a separate form.

26/27 STUDENT PLACEMENT - Our priority is to create the best possible learning environment for every child. To achieve this, we focus on composing classrooms based on a variety of factors and are unable to accommodate specific teacher requests. Parents have unique insights into your child's social, academic, emotional, and physical development. If you have any information you feel is crucial to your child's success, please share this by email with the school principal, Mr. Gehringer by May 15th. While we appreciate your input, requests for specific teachers cannot be honored.

Kernsville is excited to have Literati Book Fair coming to our school on Monday, April 20th through Thursday, April 24th. A book fair flyer and information sheet will be coming home soon, but for now please visit this link to set up your Digital Gift Card if you would like your child to have a cashless shopping experience. This will be used just like a store gift card and if they don’t spend it all, you may use it at the next book fair or reload it for the next fair.

Book Fair Volunteers – help is needed to assist before, during and clean up of the book fair (April 17 –
April 24). Book Fair: Spring Bookfair 2026
